Description

The FHN Financial Application Development Manager is a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing all facets of software development initiatives. This leadership position involves providing comprehensive technical guidance and support across various projects aimed at building enterprise-level solutions, interfaces, and tools, including workflow processes, websites, web applications, reporting mechanisms, and data transformation and routing systems, while adhering to established architectural frameworks.

The Application Development Manager assumes a hands-on approach, actively engaging with teams to impart technical expertise and ensure alignment with project objectives. This role entails spearheading technical design strategies across multiple development teams, making critical decisions, and maintaining consistency in approach to foster efficient and cohesive development practices. In addition, this position will communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and other pertinent metrics to both internal stakeholders and management for all application development projects.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Manage a team of professional software developers and database analysts and when necessary.

  • Hire, Develop, and motivate staff.

  • Plan, execute, monitor, and close application development projects successfully by managing scope, timelines, resources, issues, and risks.

  • Provide status updates for all projects in the application development project pipeline.

  • Work collaboratively with internal resources to assess and understand technical specifications and business requirements for new systems or systems enhancements.

  • Execute quality assurance processes, monitor quality metrics, and manage the delivery of high quality, reliable and scalable software products.

  • Act as liaison between the development team and other departments and stakeholders such as Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate department wide application development standards that ensure continuously improving alignment between our applications portfolio and our desired future state.

  • Maintain a comprehensive audit of all existing business applications, processes and databases and address upgrade needs as necessary.
